FRANCESCA BARING

OWNER & INSTRUCTOR

With a lifelong love of horses, Francesca trained at Talland School of Equitation and later Waterstock House Training Centre and achieved her BHSAI in 1982. Competing for seven years as an event rider, Francesca went round Burghley and  qualified for Badminton Horse Trials, before moving into showing and freelance teaching. Francesca qualified for HOYS in 2004 with her horse Picasso, winning 4th place in Search For A Star and won Best Turned Out. In 1995 Northington Stables was born, with the aim of giving children the opportunity to ride well-schooled, good mannered ponies (most of the time!) and be able to compete them on a limited budget, having all the fun Francesca had as a child.


RAMZI HIJJAWI

BHS APC / SENIOR YARD MANAGER / HEAD COACH

 

Ramzi grew up in the Middle East being schooled in the UK and returning home for the vacations, it was there that he developed his interest for riding, mostly riding Arab horses.

After completing a BA in architecture and design in London he decided to follow his passion for riding. Ramzi trained at Wellington riding centre gaining his professional qualifications, he then stayed on as a coach and ran the livery side of Wellington. Ramzi was then invited to the Emirates to ride and coach, as well as coaching he competed for the Emirates at show jumping, qualifying for the FEI Samsung Nations Cup. On completion of his contract in the Emirates he returned to the UK to develop over 30 years of experience ranging from coaching riders, training and competing clients' horses, backing, breaking, training and schooling point to pointers, as well as this he was asked to join Sparsholt Equine centre as a senior coach, where he lectured and coached the students.

Apart from his enthusiasm for all equine pursuits Ramzi has many external interests, stretching from riding his Ducati, running when it’s not raining, to being an amateur radio operator and flying when time allows and finally spending time with his and his wife’s three horses, tortoise and English pointer.    


CAROLINE WHITE

YARD MANAGER

Caroline has been riding since the age of 4, owning and competing her own horses. She graduated in 2014 from Sparsholt College with a BSC (Hons) in Equine Science and joined us full time in 2018. Caroline is responsible for managing the yard and the welfare of our horses, tailoring their work and nutrition programme and ensuring they have the best quality care.


NICOLE PEARCE 

ADMINISTRATION MANAGER 

Nicole is very friendly and sociable and is popular with all of our clients. She manages the admin side of the business, organises the events and is the friendly face on reception. Since joining us, Nicole has attained her Ride Safe Award and her BHS stage 1 care.


HANNAH HIJJAWI 

GROOM/PART TIME INSTRUCTOR

Hannah started riding when she was at university studying for a BSC in Animal Science, it was after that first lesson that she realised she wanted to persue a career in the equine industry. Hannah started her career by working in a local riding school and then went on to work at a variety of yards ranging from eventing, dressage and an international competition centre, it was here where Hannah attained her BHS Stage 4. In recent years Hannah has worked at an agricultural college, supervising students who are working towards their own equestrian qualifications. Outside of work Hannah enjoys riding and caring for her own two horses, Red and Drake and has a particular interest in dressage and showing.


 

 


ANNALEISE BLANCHARD 

GROOM 

Annaleise has been a volunteer here with us at Northington since she was 12 years old. She is currently in the process of taking her BHS exams with a dream of one day breaking in young horses. Annaleise also has her own young pony Smoke who she is bringing along very nicely.
